Participation in compact as condition of employment

(a) An employer shall not require a physical therapist or a physical therapist assistant to seek licensure through the Physical Therapy Licensure Compact as a condition of initial or continued employment as a physical therapist or physical therapist assistant in this state. (b) An employer may require that a physical therapist or physical therapist assistant obtain and maintain a license to practice physical therapy in multiple states if the physical therapist or physical therapist assistant is free to obtain and maintain the licenses by any means authorized by the laws of the respective states.
