(1) No person may be committed under this chapter after July 1, 1980. (2) The legislature finds and declares that persons violating s. 940.225, 948.02, 948.025 or 948.06 or committing crimes when motivated by a desire for sexual excitement may be in need of specialized treatment. The legislature intends that the department should provide treatment for those persons.
