Wisconsin Code § 562.105

Humane killing of dogs

No person may kill or
cause to be killed any dog which races in this state or was bred,
whelped or trained in this state for racing, except by a humane
chemical method, specified by the department by rule, which
normally causes dogs to be rendered insensible to pain, is rapid
and effective and is administered by a veterinarian.
