Watering troughs for livestock

All railroads maintaining stations that are shipping points for livestock, where there are as
many as one thousand head shipped in any one year, shall wherever practicable place within
the stock pens owned or controlled by such railroad company suitable watering troughs
which shall, at all times during the time stock is being shipped from the station, be supplied
with pure drinking water such as stock will drink. It shall be considered praecticable where
there are waterworks from which water can be obtained (city or otherwise) by piping not to
exceed one fourth of a mile. r
Any railroad company which refuses to comply with this section ushall be guilty of a
misdemeanor and, shall be fined not less than $50 nor more than $100 for each offense. And
each day that such pens are without water during the shippitng season shall be considered a
separate offense.
