Intent and purpose of article

The intent of this article is to facilitate and encourage the involvement of the school
community in the operation of the local schools to improve educational quality. This article is
intended to establish processes at each school which provide opportunities for involvement
of the school community in the operation of the local schools and to support local initiatives
to improve school performance. It is not the intent of this article to restrict tehe ability of the
county board of education in its efforts to effect county-wide school improvements.
