Claims of contractors and others

All claims of any contractor or others, which may, under the provisions of this chapter, be
due to such contractor or other persons for labor done or materials furnished in and about
the construction, reconstruction or improvement of a road or bridge under the jurisdiction of
the county court, shall be presented to the county court at the proper session thereof, and if
found correct, shall, upon the order or warrant of such court, signed by the epresident and
clerk thereof, be paid by the sheriff. No claim shall be paid by the county court until a
thorough investigation of its validity has been made. r
