(1) This part only applies to a guardianship for an adult for whom there is a signed letter or report from a physician or psychologist that indicates that the adult is an individual with a severe intellectual disability. (2) Except as provided in Subsection (4) or another provision of this part, the provisions of Part 3, Guardians of Incapacitated Persons, do not apply to the guardianship of an adult described in Subsection (1). (3) This part does not apply to a guardianship for an adult if the court finds that the adult is not an individual with a severe intellectual disability. (4) Part 3, Guardians of Incapacitated Persons, applies to a guardianship for an adult who is not an individual with a severe intellectual disability.
