Term of license or registration

(1)
(a) The division shall issue each license under this part with a two-year renewal cycle established
by division rule.
(b) The division may by rule extend or shorten a renewal cycle by as much as one year to
stagger the renewal cycles it administers.
(2) At the time of renewal, the licensed individual shall show satisfactory evidence of renewal
requirements as required under this part.
(3) Each license or registration expires on the expiration date shown on the license unless
renewed by the licensed individual in accordance with Section 58-1-308.
(4)
(a) A registration as a registered behavior specialist or a registered assistant behavior specialist:
(i) expires on the day the individual is no longer employed in accordance with Subsection
58-61-705(5)(d) or (6)(d); and
(ii) may not be renewed.
(b) The Department of Health and Human Services, or an organization contracted with a division
of the Department of Health and Human Services, shall notify the Division of Professional

Licensing when a person registered under this part is no longer employed as a registered
behavior specialist or a registered assistant behavior specialist.
