(1) A person may not: (a) import into or export from the state a species of live native or exotic wildlife; or (b) possess or release from captivity imported live wildlife described in Subsection (1)(a). (2) Notwithstanding Subsection (1), a person may engage in an act described in Subsection (1) if: (a) provided for in this title or the rules made by the Wildlife Board in accordance with Title 63G, Chapter 3, Utah Administrative Rulemaking Act; and (b) the person first secures written permission from the division.
