Sec. 351.607. DISPENSING CONTACT LENSES; PENALTY. (a) A person commits an offense if the person dispenses a contact lens by mail or otherwise to a patient in this state without having a valid prescription signed by an optometrist, therapeutic optometrist, or licensed physician. (b) An offense under Subsection (a) is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of $1,000 for each lens dispensed. The fine is in addition to any other penalty imposed under this chapter.
