Sec. 281.014. NOTICE. (a) When a petition is filed with the county judge, the judge shall set a date, time, and place for a hearing on the petition by the judge. (b) The date of the hearing must be within 20 days after the date the petition is filed. (c) The county judge shall issue a notice of the date, time, and place of the hearing that informs all persons of their right to appear and contest the form and allegations of the petition and the desirability of or need for the creation of the proposed authority. Before the 10th day before the date of the hearing, the notice must be published at least one time in a newspaper having general circulation in the county.
