Sec. 167.081. DESIGNATION OF FACILITY TO HANDLE CERTIFIED LIVESTOCK. (a) The commission may designate a stockyard that is in the tick eradication area or in the free area and is open to the public for yarding, marketing, and selling livestock as a facility to handle intrastate movements of livestock certified by an inspector to be free from ticks or exposure to ticks. A stockyard so designated shall provide tick-free facilities for the handling of that livestock in accordance with this subchapter. (b) A designation under this section is effective for 24 months following the day on which notice is served, and the commission may redesignate a facility for the purpose of this section.
