Sec. 1039.052. ALTERNATIVE DIRECTOR ELECTION. (a) As an alternative to electing directors at large, the board may: (1) provide for all or some directors to be elected from single-member districts; and (2) devise and implement for the directors' election a plan of apportionment as determined to be in the best interest of the district and district inhabitants. (b) Before implementing the apportionment plan, the plan must be approved by a majority of the district voters voting at an election held for that purpose. (c) The election must be held in the same manner as an election required for the issuance of bonds.
