(a) A person employed by the finance department shall be recommended by the director and approved by the committee to serve as deputy director of finance. (b) (1) The person employed for this position shall perform such duties and responsibilities as assigned by the director. (2) In the absence of the director, the deputy director shall perform the duties of the director necessary to the continued operation of the department, including, but not limited to, the cosigning of warrants, payroll checks and purchase orders.
