Withholding from reemployment assistance benefits

Upon receiving notice from the Department of Social Services that a person owes child support, the Department of Labor and Regulation shall immediately withhold funds from the person's state reemployment assistance benefits and forward the withheld amounts to the Department of Social Services. The Department of Labor and Regulation shall withhold the amount as designated by the Department of Social Services except that the amount actually withheld may not be in excess of fifty percent of the person's benefits. The person shall also be notified that the person may contest the withholding by filing a written request for administrative review with the Department of Social Services in accordance with §
25-7A-26
