(a) Time limit for initial inspection.-- All vehicles subject to annual inspection pursuant to section 4702 (relating to requirement for periodic inspection of vehicles) shall be inspected at least once in the 12 months immediately following the first day of the month following enactment. (b) Varied inspection interval.-- During the initial phase-in of the annual inspection program all vehicles shall be subject to a varied inspection interval not to exceed 15 months.
