councilmember per ward. At the first general municipal election held in the odd-numbered year following adoption of the aldermanic form of government with one (1) councilmember per ward, the officers to be elected and their terms are as follows: 1. Four-year terms: Councilmembers from odd-numbered wards; the mayor; the clerk; the marshal; and the street commissioner. 2. Two-year terms: Councilmembers from even-numbered wards; and the treasurer. At general municipal elections held thereafter, the successors of the officers whose terms are expiring shall be elected for four-year terms.
