Title 10A. Children And Juvenile Code: Review and assessment of children committed to Office

A.  The Office of Juvenile Affairs shall review and assess each
child committed to the Office to determine the type of placement
consistent with the treatment needs of the child in the nearest
geographic proximity to the home of the child and, in the case of
delinquent children, the protection of the public.  Such review and
assessment shall include an investigation of the personal and family
history of the child, and his environment, and any physical or
mental examinations considered necessary.
B.  In making such review, the Office may use any facilities,
public or private, which offer aid to it in the determination of the
correct placement of the child.
