Title 10A. Children And Juvenile Code: Termination of parental rights

A.  The finding that a child is delinquent or in need of
supervision shall not deprive the parents of the child of their
parental rights, but a court may terminate the rights of a parent to
a child for any reason authorized in the Oklahoma Children's Code.
The provision of the Oklahoma Children's Code shall govern
termination of parental rights.
B.  Whenever parental rights of the parents of a child have been
terminated and the child is committed to the Office of Juvenile
Affairs, the Executive Director of the Office of Juvenile Affairs
shall serve as the legal guardian of the estate of the child, until
another guardian is legally appointed, for the purpose of preserving
the child's property rights, securing for the child any benefits to
which he may be entitled under social security programs, insurance,

claims against third parties, and otherwise, and receiving and
administering such funds or property for the care and education of
the child.
