Title 10A. Children And Juvenile Code: Filing of petition or motion for termination of

parental rights.
A.  A petition or motion for termination of parental rights may
be filed independently by either the district attorney or the
attorney of a child alleged to be or adjudicated deprived.
B.  A petition or motion for termination of parental rights
shall be filed by the district attorney for those petitions or
motions required to be filed pursuant to the provisions of Section
1-4-902 of this title.
C.  If a child's attorney files a petition or motion for the
termination of the parental rights of the parents of the child, the
district attorney shall join in the petition or motion for those
petitions or motions required to be filed by the district attorney
pursuant to the provisions of Section 1-4-902 of this title, unless
an exception to filing exists.
