Effective: October 1, 1953 Latest Legislation: House Bill 1 - 100th General Assembly A municipal corporation may establish a quarantine hospital within or without its limits. If without its limits, the consent of the municipal corporation or township within which it is proposed to establish such hospital shall first be obtained, but such consent shall not be necessary if the hospital is more than eight hundred feet from any occupied house or public highway. When great emergency exists, the board of health of a city or general health district may seize, occupy, and temporarily use for a quarantine hospital a suitable vacant house or building within its jurisdiction. The board of a district within which is located a municipal corporation having a quarantine hospital shall have exclusive control of such hospital.
