Upon compliance with section 6 -03-13.3, any bank organized under chapter 6 -02 or 6-06.2
and under the supervision of the state banking board, and any national bank doing business in
this state, may maintain and operate separate and apart from its banking house facilities, in
addition to such service at its main banking house. Any activity incidental to the business of
banking may be transacted at a separate facility, including receiving deposits of every kind and
nature, cashing checks or orders to pay, issuing exchange, making loans, renting safe deposit
boxes, exercising fiduciary powers if authorized by the board, and receiving payments payable
at the bank. Whenever any banking institution that has been granted approval to establish and
maintain a facility deems it advisable to discontinue the maintenance of the facility, the banking
institution may apply to the commissioner or state banking board for cancellation and the
commissioner or board may order the cancellation approval within the time the board specifies.
The banking institution shall provide notice of the application as required by the board by rule.
