* § 407. Application for urban mass transportation funds. 1. The\ndepartment shall, on behalf of the council, make application annually to\nthe urban mass transportation administration and to other federal\nagencies as may be appropriate, for funds to support the council's\nplanning program. The department shall make such funds, as well as funds\nreceived from the federal highway administration, available to the\ncouncil for its decision on their use and distribution. The department\nshall be the urban mass transportation administration grant applicant\nfor the central staff, transportation coordinating committee staff, and\nsubregional pass through work elements of the unified planning work\nprogram. Applicants for urban mass transportation administration grants\nto support the transit operators planning and special studies work\nelements shall be determined annually in the unified planning work\nprogram.\n  2. The council shall authorize the department and others as\nappropriate, to accept on behalf of the council, the transfer of current\ngrants that have been awarded to the tri-state regional planning\ncommission.\n  3. The unified planning work program, as endorsed by the tri-state\nregional planning commission for federal fiscal year nineteen hundred\neighty-one (tri-state program year nineteen hundred\neighty-one--eighty-two), shall not be altered by the council, except by\nconsensus of the council members as defined herein.\n  * NB Expired June 30, 1983\n  * NB There are 2 § 407's\n
