§ 193. Authorization to municipalities to adopt necessary local laws,\nordinances or resolutions. Any municipality is hereby authorized and\nempowered to adopt and amend a local law, ordinance or resolution\nproviding for supplemental retirement allowance payments both to local\nretired employees thereof and local retired teachers of a school\ndistrict located therein. Any such local law, ordinance or resolution\nshall provide an equitable method of computing the amount of such\npayments. The supplemental retirement allowances paid to local retired\nemployees shall not exceed the supplemental retirement allowances paid\nto state retired employees pursuant to this article. The supplemental\nretirement allowances paid to local retired teachers shall not exceed\nthe supplemental retirement allowances paid to state retired teachers\npursuant to this article. Any such local law, ordinance or resolution\nmay contain provisions necessary and appropriate for the proper\nadministration of such supplemental retirement allowance payments,\nincluding a provision requiring the filing of verified applications for\nsuch payments.\n
