§ 1215.  Construction of terms.  Whenever the term public service\ncommission, or board of rapid transit railroad commissioners, or transit\nconstruction commissioner, or transit commission or board of\ntransportation, occurs in any law, contract or document relating to\nfacilities conveyed to the authority or their operation or any other\nduty imposed upon the authority pursuant to this title, or when in any\nlaw, contract or document reference is made to such commission, board,\ncommissioner, or board of transportation in connection with such\nfacilities, operations or duties whereof was so conveyed, such term or\nreference shall be deemed to refer to and include the authority, to the\nextent consistent with the provisions of such law, contract or document.\nFor the purposes of subdivision four of section fifty of the workers'\ncompensation law, the term other political subdivision of the state\nshall be deemed to refer to and include the authority.  For the purposes\nof section three hundred twenty-one of the vehicle and traffic law, the\nterm any political subdivision shall be deemed to refer to and include\nthe authority. For the purposes of subparagraph (i) of paragraph three\nof subsection (c) of section six hundred twelve of the tax law, the term\nsubdivisions, referring to subdivisions of the state, shall be deemed to\nrefer to and include the Manhattan and Bronx surface transportation\nauthority.\n
