§ 341. Designation of state highways. The state highway system shall\nconsist of the highways designated and set forth in this section\ntogether with the highways, streets or roads, or portions thereof,\ndesignated or authorized to be a part of the state highway system\npursuant to other sections of this chapter or by special legislative\nacts heretofore or hereafter enacted. The state highway system may be\nmodified by abandonments, realignments and additions as provided by law.\nOnly highways on the designated state highway system shall be\nconstructed or improved as state highways. Such highways shall be so\nconstructed or improved at the sole expense of the state, subject to the\nprovisions relating to federal aid and to additional improvements\nrequested by local authorities. All of the highways referred to in this\nsection by number are the highways so numbered on the records of the\ndepartment of Transportation. The following are hereby designated and\nset forth as state highways:\n 1. Albany county. 1. Beginning at the Greene-Albany county line,\nthence running generally northerly through or near the village of Ravena\nand the hamlets of Coeymans, Selkirk and Becker's Corners to the\nsouthern city line of Albany; beginning at the western city line of\nAlbany, thence running generally northwesterly through or near the\nhamlets of Westmere, Guilderland, Hartman Corners and McCormack Corners\nto the Albany-Schenectady county line; beginning at the Schoharie-Albany\ncounty line, thence running generally easterly through or near the\nhamlets of West Berne, Berne and East Berne, through Thacher park,\nthrough or near the hamlets of New Salem, New Scotland and Slingerlands\nto the southern city line of Albany; beginning at the northern Albany\ncity line, thence running generally northerly through or near the\nhamlets of Loudonville, Newtonville and Latham to the Albany-Saratoga\ncounty line; beginning at the Schenectady-Albany county line, thence\nrunning generally easterly through or near the hamlets of Verdoy and\nLatham to the western city line of Watervliet; the portion of the bridge\nbetween the cities of Watervliet and Troy which lies within the county\nof Albany; beginning at the Schoharie-Albany county line, thence running\ngenerally easterly through or near the hamlet of West Township to state\nhighway one thousand two hundred seventy-nine in or near the village of\nAltamont; beginning at the intersection of state highways five thousand\nsix hundred thirty-six and eight thousand eighty-four, west of the\nhamlet of Guilderland, thence running generally northwesterly to the\nintersection of state highways one thousand two hundred seventy-nine and\neight thousand eighty-four, in or near the hamlet of Dunnsville;\nbeginning at a point on state highway eight hundred forty-nine, in or\nnear the village of Altamont, thence running generally southeasterly to\nor near the village of Voorheesville, thence running generally northerly\nto a point on state highway five thousand one hundred fifty-five near\nthe city of Albany; beginning near the intersection of state highways\none hundred nineteen and five thousand five hundred fifty-five, thence\nrunning generally northeasterly to a point on state highway seven\nhundred ninety in or near the city of Cohoes; beginning at a point on\nstate highway twenty-two in or near the hamlet of Loudonville, thence\nrunning generally easterly through or near the village of Menands to the\nAlbany-Rensselaer county line; beginning at a point on the northern city\nline of Albany, thence running generally northerly through or near the\nvillage of Menands to the southern city line of Watervliet; beginning at\na point on the northern city line of Albany, thence running generally\nnortherly, on new location east of the Delaware and Hudson railroad and\nthe Menands regional market, to a point, to be determined by the\ncommissioner, on the southern city line of Watervliet east of Broadway,\nincluding a
