Recording certificates of exempt volunteer firefighter

§ 202-a. Recording certificates of exempt volunteer firefighter. A\ncertificate of honorable discharge of an exempt volunteer firefighter,\nor a certificate issued to an exempt volunteer firefighter under the\nprovisions of section two hundred two of this article, may be recorded\nin any county, in the office of the county clerk, and when so recorded\nshall constitute notice to all public officials of the facts set forth\ntherein. It shall be the duty of the county clerk to record any such\ncertificate, upon presentation thereof without the payment of any fee.\nThis section also applies to the counties within the city of New York.\nFor any purpose for which such original honorable discharge or such\nexempt volunteer firefighter's certificate may be required in the state\nof New York, a certified copy of such record shall be deemed sufficient\nand shall be accepted in lieu thereof. It shall be the duty of the\ncounty clerks of the counties within the city of New York upon the\npayment of one dollar, to furnish a certified copy of any such record of\nsuch an exempt volunteer firefighter's certificate to any person\napplying for the same.\n
