§ 293. Division of human rights.  1. There is hereby created in the\nexecutive department a division of human rights hereinafter in this\narticle called the division. The head of such division shall be a\ncommissioner hereinafter in this article called the commissioner, who\nshall be appointed by the governor, by and with the advice and consent\nof the senate and shall hold office at the pleasure of the governor. The\ncommissioner shall be entitled to his or her expenses actually and\nnecessarily incurred by him or her in the performance of his or her\nduties.\n  2. The commissioner may establish, consolidate, reorganize or abolish\nsuch bureaus and other organizational units within the division as he or\nshe determines to be necessary for efficient operation.\n
