A. The department may issue an electronic credential to a person in addition to a physical driver's license or physical identification card if the department has issued to the person: (1) a driver's license; or (2) an identification card. B. An electronic credential that is not processed through a state-approved application on a device is not a valid electronic credential. C. The department shall set the validity period of an electronic credential. History: 1978 Comp., § 66-5-602, enacted by Laws 2024, ch. 13, § 8. Effective dates. — Laws 2024, ch. 13 contained no effective date provision, but, pursuant to N.M. Const., art. IV, § 23, was effective May 15, 2024, 90 days after adjournment of the legislature.
