A person who in good faith communicates a report of criminal activity to a crime stoppers program or who in good faith receives, forwards or acts upon such a report is immune from civil liability for any act or omission resulting in the arrest, filing of criminal charges or trial of a person who is later exonerated or acquitted of a criminal charge. History: Laws 2003, ch. 249, § 6. Effective dates. — Laws 2003, ch. 249 contained no effective date provision, but, pursuant to N.M. Const., art. IV, § 23, was effective June 20, 2003, 90 days after adjournment of the legislature.
