Dr. Jeannie Oakes memorial community schools fund; created; accountability

A. The "Dr. Jeannie Oakes memorial community schools fund" is created as a
nonreverting fund in the state treasury. The fund consists of appropriations, gifts, grants
and donations. The department shall administer the fund, and money in the fund is
appropriated to the department to distribute grant awards to support the development
and implementation of community schools initiatives.
B. The department shall ensure that the money expended from the Dr. Jeannie
Oakes memorial community schools fund is used for the purposes stated in the
Community Schools Act and shall not be used to correct for previous reductions in
program services.
