Any warrant officer or enlisted member who: A. strikes or assaults a warrant officer, noncommissioned officer or petty officer while that officer is in the execution of his office; B. willfully disobeys the lawful order of a warrant officer, noncommissioned officer or petty officer; or C. treats with contempt or is disrespectful in language or deportment toward a warrant officer, noncommissioned officer or petty officer while that officer is in the execution of his office; shall be punished as a court-martial may direct. History: 1978 Comp., § 20-12-26, enacted by Laws 1989, ch. 337, § 25. Effective dates. — Laws 1989, ch. 337 contained no effective date provision, but, pursuant to N.M. Const., art. IV, § 23, was effective June 16, 1989.
