1. The provisions of NRS 587.841 to 587.899 , inclusive, do not apply to customer-formula feed, or a manufacturer, distributor or guarantor thereof, or a contract feeder. 2. As used in this section: (a) Contract feeder means a person who as an independent contractor feeds commercial feed to animals pursuant to a contract whereby the commercial feed is supplied, furnished or otherwise provided to the person and whereby the persons remuneration is determined in whole or in part by feed consumption, mortality, profits or the amount or quality of the product. (b) Customer-formula feed means commercial feed which consists of a mixture of commercial feeds or ingredients, each batch of which is manufactured according to the specific instructions of the final purchaser.
