Nevada Code § 543.090

Loans to counties, cities and public districts for planning, engineering, administration, acquisition of easements and other costs

1. Whenever the Secretary of Agriculture
or the Secretary of the Army has approved or may approve a work of improvement
or a flood control project in the State of Nevada, and the Congress of the
United States has appropriated or may appropriate money for such work or
project, and a county, city or public district, or a combination thereof, has
given or is in a position to give the assurances required by the Watershed
Protection and Flood Prevention Act, Public Law 566, 83rd Congress, 68 Stat.
666, as amended, or the Flood Control Act of 1954, Public Law 780, 83rd
Congress, 68 Stat. 1256, as amended, and such county, city or public district
is in need of immediate financial assistance for planning, engineering,
administration, acquisition of easements and rights-of-way or other costs, such
county, city or public district may apply to the Director for such assistance
in the manner provided in NRS 543.090 to 543.140 , inclusive.
2. A city, county or public district may
apply to the Director for financial assistance pursuant to NRS 543.090 to 543.140 , inclusive, for the payment of the
cost of surveying along a river when such surveying potentially but not
necessarily will culminate in or assist a flood control project.
