Prohibition against law enforcement agency adopting general policy establishing waiting period or delay before action on report of missing child; duty of law enforcement agency to evaluate information and circumstances to determine immediacy of action

A
law enforcement agency shall not adopt a general policy establishing a waiting
period or delay before acting upon any report of a missing child under the age
of 14. The law enforcement agency which receives the initial report on the
missing child shall evaluate all information available to that agency and the
circumstances surrounding the disappearance of the child to determine whether
immediate action is necessary.
