Appropriations for elementary and secondary education: Acceptance and disbursement of money

1. The State Board may accept and adopt
regulations or establish policies for the disbursement of money appropriated
and apportioned to the State of Nevada, the school districts or the charter
schools of the State of Nevada by the Congress of the United States for
purposes of elementary and secondary education.
2. The Superintendent of Public
Instruction shall deposit the money with the State Treasurer, who shall make
disbursements therefrom on warrants of the State Controller issued upon the
order of the Superintendent of Public Instruction.
3. The State Board, any school district
within this State and any governing body of any charter school in this State
may, within the limits provided in this section, make such applications,
agreements and assurances to the Federal Government, and conduct such programs
as may be required as a condition precedent to the receipt of money
appropriated by any Act of Congress for purposes of elementary and secondary
education. Such an agreement or assurance must not require this State, or a
school district or governing body to provide money above the amount
appropriated or otherwise lawfully available for that purpose.
