Designation of agency of Indian tribe as automatic voter registration agency under certain circumstances

1. If an Indian reservation or Indian
colony is located in whole or in part within a county, the Indian tribe may
submit a request to the Governor for approval to allow an agency of the tribe
to become an automatic voter registration agency in order to submit voter
registration information of tribal members to the Secretary of State and the
database created by the Secretary of State pursuant to NRS 293.675 for the purpose of registering
tribal members to vote or updating the voter registration information of tribal
members for the purpose of correcting the statewide voter registration list
pursuant to NRS 293.530 .
2. If the Governor finds that the tribal
agency collects in the regular course of business from a person applying to the
agency to receive any service or assistance sufficient information that
demonstrates the person is qualified to vote pursuant to NRS 293.485 , including, without limitation,
proof of identity, citizenship, residence and date of birth:
(a) The Governor shall designate the tribal
agency as an automatic voter registration agency; and
(b) The Secretary of State and the Indian tribe
shall comply with the provisions of NRS
293.57686 .
