1. The Senate and Assembly meeting in joint session shall proceed to decide the contest. 2. The Speaker of the Assembly shall preside at such joint session, and the session shall be conducted under the joint standing rules or joint special rules adopted for the occasion. 3. The contest shall be decided by a majority vote of the elected membership of both houses not later than 30 days after the contest hearing is begun.
