Term of collective bargaining agreements; continuation of agreements beyond term under certain circumstances

Except
as otherwise provided in this section, the term of a collective bargaining
agreement must begin on July 1 of an odd-numbered year and must end on June 30
of the next odd-numbered year. If the parties cannot agree to a new collective
bargaining agreement before the end of the term of a collective bargaining
agreement, the terms of that collective bargaining agreement remain in effect
until a new collective bargaining agreement takes effect.
