It is the purpose of the Nevada Community Development Program Law to provide for municipal participation in the federal program of Community Development Block Grants, under the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 (P.L. 93-383, 88 Stat. 633) as amended, and to vest in Nevada cities all powers necessary or appropriate to enable the cities to participate fully in such federal program and similar programs and to authorize the cities to perform services, activities, planning and other functions related to community development programs.
