Director: Appointment and titles of Deputy Directors; classification; other employment prohibited

1. The Director shall appoint, with the
consent of the Governor, the following Deputy Directors:
(a) The Deputy Director of Operations, who shall
oversee the operations of the Authority, including, without limitation, human
resources, the training and development of staff and the management and
improvement of agency processes; and
(b) The Deputy Director of Health Care Financing,
who shall:
(1) Oversee the budgets of Medicaid, the
Childrens Health Insurance Program, the Silver State Health Insurance Exchange
and the Public Option; and
(2) Maximize the ability of the State to
leverage federal money to support programs under the jurisdiction of the Authority.
2. A Deputy Director appointed pursuant to
this section:
(a) Is in the unclassified service of the State,
except where otherwise required by federal law;
(b) Serves at the pleasure of the Director and is
subject to the administrative supervision of the Director; and
(c) Except as otherwise provided in NRS 284.143 , shall devote his or her entire
time and attention to the business of his or her office and shall not pursue
any other business or occupation or hold any other office of profit.
