Requirements related to minority groups: Definitions

As used in NRS
232.0083 to 232.0087 , inclusive,
unless the context otherwise requires:
1. Commission on Minority Affairs means
the Nevada Commission on Minority Affairs of the Department of Business and
Industry created by NRS 232.852 .
2. Minority group means:
(a) A racial or ethnic minority group;
(b) A group of persons with disabilities; or
(c) A group of persons who identify as LGBTQ. As
used in this paragraph, LGBTQ means lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender,
queer, intersex or any other nonheterosexual or noncisgender orientation or
gender identity or expression.
3. Office for New Americans means the
Office for New Americans created in the Office of the Governor by NRS 223.910 .
4. Office of Minority Health and Equity
means the Office of Minority Health and Equity created within the Department of
Human Services by NRS 232.474 .
5. Policy means an official public
policy of a state agency that creates a common practice relating to a class of
issues.
6. Program means an official program of
a state agency.
7. State agency means every agency,
department or division of the Executive Department of the State Government.
