Prisoners to have guard; exceptions

1. Except in accordance with criteria
established pursuant to subsection 2 or as otherwise provided in NRS 211.250 to 211.300 , inclusive, no prisoner or
prisoners may be allowed to go from the walls of the prison without a
sufficient guard.
2. The responsible sheriff, chief of
police or town marshal shall establish criteria for determining whether, and to
what extent, supervision is required for a prisoner who is assigned to work
pursuant to subsection 3 of NRS 211.140 or to NRS 211.171 to 211.200 , inclusive. The sheriff, chief of
police or town marshal shall, with the consent of the administrator of the
medical facility, establish criteria for such a determination regarding a
prisoner who is incapacitated and is admitted to a medical facility for medical
treatment.
