Representing protected person in legal proceedings

1. A guardian of the estate shall appear
for and represent the protected person in all actions, suits or proceedings to
which the protected person is a party, unless the court finds that the interests
of the guardian conflict with the interests of the protected person or it is
otherwise appropriate to appoint a guardian ad litem in the action, suit or
proceeding.
2. Upon final resolution of the action,
suit or proceeding, the guardian of the estate or the guardian ad litem shall
notify the court of the outcome of the action, suit or proceeding.
3. If the person of the protected person
would be affected by the outcome of any action, suit or proceeding, the
guardian of the person, if any, should be joined to represent the protected
person in the action, suit or proceeding.
4. If the protected person is a party to
any criminal action, the guardian of the estate and the guardian of the person
must be notified of the action.
