(a) In this section, "collegiate recovery program" means a program that provides support and services for students recovering from alcohol or drug addiction who are enrolled at a constituent institution. (b) On the recommendation of the Chancellor, who shall consult with the presidents of the constituent institutions, the Board of Regents shall establish general standards and guidelines for a collegiate recovery program to be implemented at the constituent institutions. (c) The president of each constituent institution, in collaboration with faculty, staff, and students enrolled at the institution, shall develop and implement a collegiate recovery program tailored for the institution that: (1) Satisfies the standards and guidelines established by the Chancellor under subsection (b) of this section; and (2) Addresses the needs of students at the institution who are recovering from alcohol or drug addiction.
