(a) There is a University of Maryland Agriculture and Natural Resources
Internship Program.
(b) The purpose of the University of Maryland Agriculture and Natural
Resources Internship Program is to:
(1) Provide students in the College of Agriculture and Natural
Resources at the University of Maryland, College Park Campus with at least one
semester, where appropriate, of work experience relevant to their major, including
on-farm experience for students interested in careers related to production of
agriculture; and
(2) Promote careers in agriculture and natural resources in the State.
(c) The University of Maryland, College Park Campus or the Dean of the
College of Agriculture and Natural Resources at the University of Maryland, College
Park Campus shall inform the Department of Agriculture on the University's plan to
implement the requirements of this section.
(d) The Maryland Agricultural Commission shall work through its
members representing specific sectors of agriculture and natural resources to
promote, and where possible, to establish internships with farms and businesses in
their respective sectors.
