A constable shall obey and execute all process directed to him from any judge
of the District Court of Maryland concerning any matter within the court's
jurisdiction and shall return the process according to its command. He shall serve
and levy all executions issued by a judge of the District Court, and in so doing has the
same powers, responsibilities and liabilities as a sheriff or deputy sheriff acting in
the same capacity if the constable has satisfactorily completed a training program
from a police training school approved by the Maryland Police Training and
Standards Commission.
