Chief and deputy inspectors

The commissioner shall appoint and may remove for cause when so appointed a person to be chief
inspector at any time the office may become vacant. The chief inspector must have, at the time of the

appointment, not fewer than 5 years' practical experience with steam boilers as a steam engineer,
mechanical engineer, boilermaker or boiler inspector as described in section 15103-A. [PL 2013, c.

The commissioner may likewise hire deputy inspectors as necessary to carry out this chapter. [PL
1999, c. 386, Pt. W, §9 (AMD).]
