(1) An applicant for licensure who is notified by the board that he has fulfilled the requirements of KRS 334.050 shall appear at a time, place, and before such persons as the board may designate and pass written and practical tests in order to demonstrate that he is qualified to practice the fitting of hearing instruments. The examination administered shall not be conducted in a manner that college training is required in order to pass. Nothing in the examination shall imply that the applicant shall possess the degree of medical competence normally expected of a physician, or of audiological competence of a certified audiologist. (2) The board shall give at least one (1) examination of the type prescribed in subsection (1) of KRS 334.070 each year, and such additional examinations as the volume of applications may make appropriate.
