Time off for good behavior

Every prisoner in the county jailmay, upon the recommendation of the sheriff or person in charge of the detention of the prisoner, and at the discretion of the sentencing judge, receive a reduction of sentence in an amount to be determined by the judge, if: 1. No infraction of the rules of discipline of the county jail or of the laws of the state has been recorded against the prisoner since the beginning of the prisoner’s incarceration; and 2. The prisoner has performed in a faithful manner the duties assigned to the prisoner.
